What the letter is, and what this is
Box of Amazing has gone out every week since January 2017, which is about five years before ChatGPT, and it has never sold anything. That is the arrangement and it is not changing. Nobody is added to a list by reading this page and nothing follows from opening it.
The practice is what happens when an organisation decides the argument applies to it. Three kinds of room: a board, an executive team, and a conference stage. The argument is the same one you read on a Sunday.
The five-line version
A written second opinion on an AI strategy somebody has already built. A day with an executive team writing the rules before the next tool is bought. A read of where a function is designing the relationship with these systems and where it is drifting. A standing advisor, monthly. And for a board, a briefing, a view on one decision, or a non-voting seat.
The five instruments behind all of that are published in full and none of them needs me to run it, which is the same principle the letter runs on.
If you are the person who forwards it
A good number of the enquiries that arrive here start with somebody forwarding an issue to their chief executive. If that is you, the two pages worth sending instead of a whole newsletter are the twelve questions a board should ask, which is an hour and free, and board advisory, which says plainly who should not buy it.
